Mizinha May Moss

When we woke up this morning, Mizinha the cat had somehow scratched her good eye and had developed an ulcer on her cornea. We took her to the vet, who told us the ulcer was about to rupture and the only solution was to operate and remove the eye. This is a pretty traumatic operation, and we felt that Mizinha would never recover, due to her compromised immune system. We made the decision to put her to sleep.
We had Mizinha a little over six months. She was an incredibly good and loving cat. In the last week she had been increasingly affectionate, and Rick and I believe she was letting us know how much she loved us and appreciated our care before she had to go. We were truly blessed to have had her for as long as we did and we miss her so much. However, we're confident we made the right decision in not allowing her to suffer.
We miss you, little girl.
